What a Deal Report is

A BoatVerdict Deal Report is independent buyer research: an analyst-written opinion on a specific boat listing, built from public records, market comparables, and our model corpus. It is informational. It is not a marine survey, a mechanical inspection, an appraisal for lending or insurance purposes, or legal, financial, or professional advice.

We work from the listing and public data — we have not been aboard the boat. Fair-value bands and risk scores are estimates with stated confidence, not guarantees of condition or future price. Always commission a marine survey and sea trial before purchasing any boat, and treat the report as one input to your own judgment.

Payment and refunds

Reports cost $49, charged via Stripe before analysis begins. If we cannot produce your report — unparseable listing, insufficient data, any failure on our side — you receive a full refund: email support@boatverdict.com with your submission id. Refund requests for delivered reports are handled case-by-case in good faith.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BoatVerdict's total liability in connection with any report or use of this site is limited to the amount you paid us. We are not liable for purchase decisions, vessel condition, or losses arising from transactions you enter.

Privacy

We collect the minimum needed to run the service: the listing URL or pasted page you submit, your email address (via Stripe at checkout, used to deliver and support your report), and payment details, which are processed and stored by Stripe — card numbers never touch our servers. Anonymous, cookieless usage analytics may be collected to improve the site. We do not sell or share personal data with third parties, and we don't run advertising.

To have your data deleted, email support@boatverdict.com from the address you used at checkout.

Public data

Registry statistics derive from public state vessel-registration records (currently Texas and New York open data), with personally identifying information removed before ingestion. Recall records derive from USCG and CPSC public datasets. Corrections: contact us.
