Lund used-boat buyer's guide

What Lund is on the used market

Lund is the premium name in aluminum fishing boats — the northern-lakes counterpart to Tracker's national volume play. Built in Minnesota and aimed at serious walleye and multispecies anglers, used Lunds trade at a consistent premium over Tracker and Lowe of equal size, and the premium survives at resale.

The brand's range runs from utility tillers through the flagship Pro-V glass-equivalent-priced rigs; the deepest used supply is in the 16–19 ft Impact/Rebel/Pro Guide band.

Known issues to inspect

Lund's double-riveted hulls are durable but share aluminum's universal checklist: leaking rivets and keel wear from beaching. The brand-specific item is the IPS hull's center keel section on heavily trailered boats — check for flex damage and verify the bunks supported the hull correctly.

On the business end, most Lunds wear Mercury or Yamaha outboards plus a bow-mount trolling motor and electronics package — the electronics often represent $3K–10K of the asking price, so verify age and model generation rather than accepting 'fully loaded.' Check transom condition on tiller models and the floor/deck plywood on pre-2010 boats.

Resale and value character

Lunds are the strongest-resale aluminum boats in America; clean examples in walleye country sell fast and hold price stubbornly. The flip side is that bargains are scarce and sellers know what they have. Negotiation leverage comes from dated electronics and tired trailers more than from the hull itself.
