Frequently asked questions

Does Wang S International have boat recalls?

USCG records show no marine product recalls for Wang S International. The one recall under this name involved craft dolls in 1988, not boats or marine equipment.

How do I verify the manufacturer of a used boat?

Decode the HIN stamped on the transom. The first three characters after the country code are the MIC, which maps to the legal manufacturer in the USCG database.

What if the boat brand does not match the HIN manufacturer?

Trade names often differ from legal manufacturer names. Always verify recalls using the MIC decoded manufacturer, not the brand decal or seller description.

Are all boat recalls listed in the USCG database?

The USCG database covers safety related defects reported under federal marine regulations. Some builder initiated service bulletins may not appear, so also check with the manufacturer directly using the MIC verified name.
